LISA S. INOUYE received her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Irvine, where she was a Dean’s List Scholar and a member of the National Pre-Professional Honor Society Alpha Epsilon Delta. She received her Juris Doctor from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University and was admitted to the California and Hawaii State Bar shortly following graduation. Ms. Inouye is also admitted to the US Court of Federal Claims, the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, the US District Court for the Southern and Central Districts of California and the District of Hawaii.
Ms. Inouye began her practice working as an attorney for a firm in Glendale specializing in Bankruptcy and Foreclosure Law. During this time, she gained experience in preparing bankruptcy petitions, drafting foreclosure avoidance complaints, interacting with clients and attending hearings and appearances. Later on in her career, she became an associate attorney for a civil litigation firm in Newport Beach, where she sharpened her skills in areas such as conducting depositions and drafting legal documents. She has achieved favorable results in many stages of litigation, including prevailing as first chair in a bench trial and drafting an opposition that resulted in immediate settlement. In her experience as a Workers’ Compensation defense attorney, Ms. Inouye has sharpened her negotiation skills and has gained experience in all phases of litigation Ms. Inouye is also fluent in Brazilian Portuguese
